Designer Profile
Jessica Patterson, LEED AP was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her passion for business and the arts led her to a career in Interior Design. She received her BA in Art from the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture and later received her Post Graduate Certification in Interior Design and Architecture from UCLA Extension ARC/ID Program.
Jessica began her career in design at Gensler, a global architecture firm. She was part of a team that worked on such prestigious projects such as LA Live, The Century Plaza Hotel and The Arizona Biltmore (a Frank Lloyd Wright building).
Jessica is a LEED Accredited Professional. LEED® designations were developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for professional builders to be certified to work in the green, or sustainable, building field. Jessica strives to use sustainable materials in her designs whenever possible. Promoting the cause of affordable sustainability, she counsels businesses on how they can create an environmentally friendly workplace and save on overhead expenses.
As a former non-profit fundraiser she believes in giving back to her community. Jessica sits on a planning committee for the Architecture and Design Museum for their annual CELEBRATE event at their new Mid-Wilshire location.
Her education and experience proved invaluable when she opened JLP Design, Inc a Los Angeles based Interior Design firm. Jessica works with clients to create a signature space. her goal is for clients to walk into their space and say, “this is me.” The firm’s commitment to sustainable design promotes a healthier environment, which encourages happiness and energizes people to be more productive in the home and in the workplace. Jessica’s passion for environmental psychology takes design to another level by delving into the emotion a person desires to evoke when they walk into a room. Understanding emotion is an invaluable tool when collaborating with clients.
