Designer Profile
The company is guided by Tracy’s unique and extraordinary vision, the result of a life richly lived and well traveled. Her design style is wonderfully eclectic, ranging from daring and bold to classic and conservative. When meeting a new client, she’s able to visualize how they want to live and propose the best ways for them to achieve it.
Tracy developed her distinctive personal style as a fashion model during the 1980’s, where she caught the professional- and personal- eye of men’s wear designer and perfumer, Bijan (pakzad). He immediately signed her to be “the Bijan girl,” launching one of the most recognized faces in international media. They worked closely together for over a decade, conceptualizing and producing their award winning and often controversial ads.
Her education continued with her marriage to business tycoon David H. Murdock, during which she designed and decorated many of his showcase projects in Los Angeles and Hawaii. From there it was a natural step to forming her own design firm. The story of Tracy’s remarkable ascent and achievement is never less than fascinating.
Services Offered
The Studio specialize in turn key projects from colossal remodels all the way down to the sheets and towels of a new bathroom. In more than one case, Tracy and her team have taken their striking designs all the way to a fully-stocked refrigerator. "It's in the details," explains Tracy.
Tracy Murdock earned her allied A.S.I.D. (American Society of Interior Designers) membership through years of experience and dedication to the craft of interior design. Her studio adheres to the rigorous A.S.I.D. code of ethics and professional conduct specifications.
The Studio is built on a solid conviction that successful design requires the utmost attention to detail... Not just in a house or room itself, but in the contents and accoutrements. Tracy explains, "I don't create rooms. I don't create offices or patios. I create living spaces."
By synchronizing her designs with client dreams and working hand in hand with architects and contractors, Tracy Murdock's designs are executed with quality to ensure a meticulously finished living space that will be enjoyed for generations.
These are the four steps necessary for successful implementation of a new living space:
Identifying a client's wants, needs, styles and aspirations.
Creating time frames, scheduling constraints and a practical budget.
Developing a design concept or composite vision of the client's expectations.
Turning abstract dreams into concrete reality.
Every project and client is unique. The services provided by Tracy Murdock Design Studio are easily tailored to meet the needs of all clients - of all dreamers.
