Designer Profile

AW Design Inc. is a design firm that specializes in designing for the individual client, whether it is your primary home, vacation home, or office. Each project is unique and requires an individualized approach.

With over twenty five years of experience in the design field, Anne is qualified to guide you through the many stages of a project. The desires and wishes of the client are key factors in designing a space, and communication and trust are requirements for a successful and timely completion of each job.

Anne is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, but completed her design training in the UCLA Environmental Arts program. She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as well as a Certified Designer in the state of California. She is a former President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ASID and has also served as Treasurer and Board Member.  Volunteer hours have been devoted to a variety of community service projects where design expertise was needed. Some of these include work with the Venice Family Clinic, County USC Hospital, and Department of Children Services.

Anne believes that design should be timeless, practical, and characteristic.  Good design does not just happen but is created by the unification of architecture, furnishings, color, and embellishments. A well designed space will be inviting and appealing for years to come.

This sleek and minimalist room uses silks, wools, velvet, and leather in varying hues of grey. The art and accessories are simple and uncluttered, yet enhanced by the custom lighting.
A large round dining table makes a rectangular room interesting. A square bordered wool rug, simple yet comfortable upholstered chairs, slightly puddled drapery panels, woven wood shades for sun protection, and an iron chandelier with crystal accents offer the room a certain classic elegance.
One of the most popular rooms of the house is this pool room. Wood wainscot, beamed ceiling, dark wood floors, and walls that are faux painted green with metallic copper accents give the room richness. Look closely and you will see Dogs Playing Pool on one of the walls
 Historic Greystone Mansion

Each year a team of talented ASID designers are chosen to design a room in this historic
English Gothic Revival mansion which was built in 1928 for the Doheny family. The
mansion is now owned by the city of Beverly Hills and proceeds of this showcase go toward the restoration of Greystone Estate.
A comfortable yet understated living room with Asian influences. An intimate seating area is created around a large coffee table with leather chairs and pull up ottomans.
An area just next to the wine cellar offers a place for guests to share a glass of wine at the bar height table. The walls are deep red with vintage prints of wine bottles and the antique credenza displays the wine glasses.
The massive great room has a rustic beamed ceiling with two large iron chandeliers. The stone fireplace is the gathering spot and the comfortably scaled seating is arranged around it. There is a game table in the corner that seats four or can be expanded to accommodate more players.
This casual dining area flows with the rest of the spacious kitchen and great room. The openness of the space enables the table to be expanded to seat large parties. A custom chandelier ties in with the other iron fixtures in the kitchen and great room.
An extra room became a wine cellar for a serious wine collector. The vaulted ceiling was faux painted with grape vines and leaves reminiscent of autumn colors. The slate tile floor has the same burnished colors of autumn.
This family kitchen is very open to the rest of the house and the same tile flooring is used throughout. A large island with a thick butcher-block top and custom hood over the stove is the focal point of the kitchen. The cabinetry is distressed and painted for a weathered appearance, and a large pantry is hidden behind doors with magnetic chalkboard panels.
This family kitchen has a breakfast table and counter seating as well. White cabinets, stainless appliances and hood are used with a stained wood island. Granite counters and tile backsplash complete the room's look
A country kitchen with beamed ceilings, cherry cabinets, and a custom pine island with glass display drawers. The counter tops are granite and the backsplash uses one tile in a variety of shapes and sizes
A small kitchen can be made more interesting with the use of angled surfaces and cabinetry. Painted and stained cabinet finishes are used together with ceramic tile counters and tumbled marble backsplash and counter edge. The subzero refrigerator with freezer drawers looks like a cabinet
The open kitchen has rich glazed cabinetry and an antique painted black center island. The predominate colors in the granite counters are amber and black and the glass mosaic tiles on the back splash are amber. Barstools at the counter and the table next to it afford seating for many.
This master bath is accentuated by a stacked stone wall and a rustic fireplace. The stone deck of the tub flows into the steam shower and acts as a seat. Simple, custom mirrors that flank the window were designed to match the cabinetry.
This large master bath incorporates a large Jacuzzi tub, separate steam shower, and separate toilet rooms. The cabinetry is finished in a custom blue, French limestone is used throughout in slab and tile, and a window seat takes advantage of the view.
Travertine and mosaic borders enhance this master bath. The focal point is the custom designed leaded glass window.
Kitchen Remodel- Traditional with Island and wooden cabinetry.
Kitchen Remodel. Light and inviting at a coastal home. Island design with sea inspired mosaic tile.
